The World Café

twc.jpgAuthors Juanita Brown and David Isaacs elaborated The World Café collective conversation process in the early 90's. Since then, this extraordinary tool has benefited a great many groups, organizations and communities world-wide by allowing them to hold conversations that really matter to them.

Through the application of a set of of specific design principle, The World Café process stimulates the emergence of collective intelligence and anchors the conversations in a generative process that results in innovation and creativity.

The World Café has grown into a large world community, intent on creating a better future by engaging in authentic value-creating conversations.

The World Café process has been used successfully in industry, business, government, communities, non-profits, for-profits, universities, associations, professional bodies. It is a spectacularly effective group conversation tool that cuts directly through the formalities and lets what counts emerge, whether it's a set of values, a strategy, innovative thinking, an action plan or brainstorming.

The World Café process has a way of diffusing many of the typical causes for tension in traditional style meetings, for example by softening the notion of "ownership" on any given idea and by encouraging the contribution of each and every participant. Based on systems thinking, the process leverages the natural connections that are made between people in a group.
